Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Division of Developmental Medicine is kicking off 2022 with a brand-new speaker series designed for healthcare providers and disability service professionals who work with children with autism and other developmental differences.
Perspectives on Multidisciplinary Care for Children with Autism, otherwise known as the Perspectives Series, will focus on research and service/training models designed to make developmental care more accessible for children with autism and their families, presenting perspectives from a range of pediatric disciplines. This series will be conducted quarterly via interactive webinar, with all lectures being held on Fridays at 12 noon CST, unless otherwise stated.

Jeffrey Hine, Ph.D.
“The Perspectives Speaker Series was created to foster discussion and collaborations surrounding increased access to developmental care for children with autism spectrum disorders and their families,” said Jeff Hine, Ph.D., BCBA, assistant professor of Pediatrics and director of Primary Care Outreach/Training for the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Treatment & Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (VKC TRIAD). “The series will feature expert speakers from a range of disciplines. We hope that attendees will be able to learn and discuss how to better address disparities in care through innovative research, novel training and service models, or medical home and primary care integration.”
The inaugural lecture of the series will take place on Friday, Jan. 21, when University of Utah professor of Pediatrics Paul Carbone, M.D., will present “Roles of the PCP in Early Identification and Long-Term Management of Children with Autism.” Click here to register for the Jan. 21 webinar.
